The Switzerland national football team represents Switzerland in men's international football. Founded in 1895, it is governed by the Swiss Football Association (ASF), which is part of FIFA and UEFA. The team's home ground is the Wankdorf Stadium in Bern.
Switzerland's most successful period was in the 1920s and 1930s, when they won two Olympic silver medals and reached the semi-finals of the 1934 FIFA World Cup. Since then, they have qualified for 12 World Cups and six European Championships, but have never progressed beyond the quarter-finals of either tournament.
The current Switzerland manager is Murat Yakin, who was appointed in August 2021. The team's captain is Granit Xhaka.
